Caution! The login of connection (of type XX123-EUROPE) does not make it possible to be connected on an account of safeguard.
To obtain an account of safeguard, you must order it by connecting you on manager.
Cisneo-Backup launches out automatically to the starting of the computer, even if the User session is closed.
Either you didn't order yet of account, or the password of your account was not configured.
In all the cases, you must connect yourselves to the manager in order to order an account, and to configure this last (Backup section/Your accounts/Password).
Cisneo-Backup realizes a mirror of your data on the servers of safeguard. That means that when you modify a file, it remain safeguards and thus replaces the old file.
Using the versioning can be interressant because it enables you in the event of delete of a file to find it.
It's important to save the configuration of software (Option available during creation/modification of a task) in order to keep the synchonisation of the data well, as well as the management of the versions, between you and the server of safeguard.
If you have a firewall, you must authorize Cisneo-Backup on ports 22,25 and 80, without what it will not be able to function.
Once Cisneo-Backup downloaded, and carried out, you obtain this first screen: Click on Suivant
Choose your repertory of installation, and click on Suivant. Cisneo-Backup is not multi-user,
You must leave the option "Seulement moi" selected.
The application will download automatically the last version available of the software, and will install it.
The installation is finished! You can launch Cisneo-Backup in the Start menu/All the programs/Cisneo-Backup
During the first launching the following message appears, you inviting to configure your account :
The parameters of your account are sent to you by email (except the password). You can also find these parameters on
manager.
The first time, you must imperatively define a password by connecting you to manager!
once the parameters correctly indicated, the following message confirms the validity of your account.
Once your account configured, you have access to the menu "Task". Select "Creation”":
Select the files to be safeguards, then Click on "Addition of the selection".
Once finished, Click on "Next" According to go to stage 2.
Schedule your task. If you wish a daily safeguard, select "Automatic", then the desired hour.
Click on "Next" to pass at the last stage.
Version: Indicate the number of versions which you wish of your files (this system of versioning is not a block version,who means
that only the modified files will be concerned with the versionning).
Compression: You allows to gain place on your distant account.
Encoding: Caution!!! If you lost the encoding password, your data will be lost.
Click on "Save the Task" for save the task.
Once saved, you go back to your tasks. A right click on your tasks allows you several actions,
as launch the task manually.
You can restore One, multiple Tasks, or all of your account
The restored data are automatically decompressed, deciphered, and copied in the repertory of remote loading (menu Compte/Configuration),
in default C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\Restauration.
- Compression :
Compression i independently customizable for each task if it have never been launched.
It can be weak, normal, or high. The type of compression used is GZIP, thus making it possible to restore
easily data compressed under Unix environment with GZIP utility.
- Encoding :
Encoding is configurable independently on each task as long as the the task never launched.
If you select this option, the encoding password is required in order to make sure you remember this password.
If the encoding password have never been created, then you will be prompt to define it and confirm it.
At the time of a restoration, if a data is encrypted with a different password, the password making it possible to decipher the data will be required.
- Alarms email :
Menu Preferences/Management of alarms email. If you wish :
- Receive an alarm quota,
- Receive an alarm when your account expires,
- Receive a report of safeguard for each task,
You must indicate the smtp of your FAI (in general smtp.domain.tld),
and the email of destination, and the email of forwarding.
- Shutdown of the machine after safeguard :
At the last stage of creation/modification of the task, you can ask to shutdown the machine after the safeguard.
If the session is open (and the screen lit), a message with a countdown 30 seconds will be displayed, allowing you to cancel this shutdown.
If the session is closed (or not open), the message will not be able to be posted, then your computer will shutdown immediately after the safeguard.
- No such File :
If at the time of a manual safeguard, in your log, or the report by email, you have the error "No such File",
that means that your quota is exceeded. You must in this case, either to remove data, or to increase your storage
capacity.
If you have this error at the time of the installation of Cisneo-Backup, you must desactivate your firewall or authorize the software to connect to the Internet.
The versioning version used by Cisneo-Backup is a versioning of files, which make it possible to have several version of a file and not of the backup as does the block vresioning.
If for example you ask for 7 versions (the file being modified before each safeguard):
- First safeguard:
The file is safeguarded in the distant repertory having for name the name of the task.
- Second safeguard:
The distant file is moved in V1, the modified file is safeguarded in the repertory having for name the name of the task.
- Third safeguard:
V1 is moved in V2, the distant file moved in V1, the modified file safeguarded in the repertory having for name the name of the task.
. . .
- Eighth safeguard:
V6 -> V7, V5 -> V6, V4 ->V5, V3 -> V4, V2 -> V3, V1 -> V2, the distant file -> V1, the modified file is safeguarded in the repertory having for name the name of the task.
- From the ninth safeguard:
V7 is removed, V6 is moved in V7 ...
If you remove a file, thanks to the versioning, you would have in this case 8 days to recover the last safeguarded version of the file.
You can reach on your account of safeguard directly from your working station, like a Internet hard disk.
This access is done via ftp protocol, and is not secured for the moment.
Download and install NetDrive.
Once launched, Click on "Nouveau Site" and configure the account :
